Another thh-ootuprovgking article and such interesting comments as well! I agree that people seem to regard design as a starting point instead of considering what it is that they want to convey. I have a similar problem at my workplace with technology. People discover a new tool and think that they should use it for every purpose under the sun, even when it is totally inappropriate. I am constantly trying to get people to think about what they’re trying to achieve as the place to start, rather than what looks cool.
